The long awaited day arrived when we could travel again and we headed for Southbourne campsite. This enabled us to have some outside time with family.

After trips to the park and beach and coffee with friends, we made our way to St Neots. Here, we stayed on the campsite alongside the river. It was such a treat to be there as we were able to meet people in the Riverside Park. We also had a fabulous Riverside pitch.

After 3 weeks in St Neots in glorious Spring weather, we moved on to Kessingland in Suffolk. This time we had a beach front pitch which was tremendous. The beach there is big and unspoilt and you can walk for miles. It was a very relaxing place to spend time.

Whilst here, we visited Lowestoft which was very deserted and had an interesting visit to Sutton Hoo. Having seen the recent film about it, we were pleased to see how faithful it had been to the history of the discovery of the Anglo Saxon ship in the 1930s.

Our next stop was West Runton in Norfolk. The site did not have the same proximity to the beach, but there were views to be had if you walked up the NT managed hill behind the site.
We enjoyed a trip to Sheringham and another to Cromer. Both are charming old Norfolk towns with little local shops and old fishing beaches. In Cromer, we met up with my brother and his wife who were there to celebrate her 60th birthday. We had a lovely pub lunch and a stroll along the front.

The views from the hill (yes, honestly) behind the campsite were gorgeous. It would have been even better with some decent sunshine!

After 2 weeks on the coast it was time to head back to civilisation and half term with grandchildren.
